HOMEPAGE
![]() 13-15th Nov, 2008, Dubrovnik, Croatia 7th Symposium on Experimental Rhinology and Immunology of the Nose (SERIN) is being organised by ENT section of EAACI from 13 to 15 November 2008 in Dubrovnik, Croatia. On behalf of the local organising committee and EAACI ENT section board, it is my pleasure to invite you to 7th Symposium on Experimental Rhinology and Immunology of the Nose (SERIN). The symposium will take place in Dubrovnik, Croatia, 13th to 15th November 2008. After a succesful 6th SERIN symposium in Barcelona in February 2006, the location of the meeting has moved towards eastern Mediterranean region, the beautiful city on the coast of the Adriatic sea. As on previous SERIN meetings, held in Dueseldorf, Rotterdam, Ghent, London, Ghent and Barcelona, the aim is to gather together the researchers and their contributions from basic and clinical research in rhinology, allergology and respiratory medicine, both experts in the field and the young researchers. In order to attract young researchers, the ENT section of EAACI will offer travel grant to EAACI Junior members, who will actively participate with an accepted abstract. The grant approved from EAACI will enable us to provide up to 30 travel grants. The EAACI membership will offer opportunity to apply for travel grant to young researchers up to 35 years of age, so, for further details regarding the EAACI membership for juniors, please consult the EAACI homepage: www.eaaci.net. The main power of SERIN is the active interaction between experts, researchers and those who intend to upgrade the scientific level of their research in the focused field of ENT and respiratory medicine. SERIN meeting is traditionally a plenary meeting. However, to achieve its goal, the poster sessions and discussions of young researchers, senior colleagues and distinguished experts in the field, are planned, as well as short presentation of posters selected according to their scientific contribution. The main topics of the meeting will include basic and clinical research on allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, rhino-sinusitis, nasal polyps, upper-lower airways interaction (infection, allergy, hyperreactivity), neurogenic inflammation, brain-nose axis, olfaction, neural regulation, novel approach to treatment of rhinosinusal disease, genomics and proteomics. Recent revisions of EAACI position papers (EPOS 2007 and ARIA 2008) will be presented. A list of international experts who already accepted the invitation to SERIN includes: Claus Bachert, James Baraniuk, Andrew Bush, Adnan Custovic, Wytske Fokkens, Roy Gerth van Wyjk, Peter Hellings, Peter Howarth, Joaquim Mullol, Carlos Nunes, Giovanni Passalacqua, Herbert Riechelmann, Glenis Scadding, Pontus Stjarne, Elina Toskala, Cornelis van Drunen, Martin Wagenmann, Ruby Pawankar, Markus Rautiainen.
